Regional Sponsored Migration SchemeThe Regional Sponsored
Migration Scheme has been developed to assist with skill shortages in
regional Australia. The RSMS is a three step process:
- The position (occupation) must be approved by the Regional
Certifying. The employer will need to evidence that the position could
not be filled locally. There are other requirements and these vary with
each Certification Body. The City of Geelong regularly surveys
businesses and has compiled a list of occupations in greatest demand.
- The employer and the position are then assessed by DIAC to meet eligibility criteria
- The applicant is then assessed against the requirements of the position.
Opal Immigration Services can assist an employer and/or visa applicant by:
- Strictly assessing eligibility for each stage of the process and
advising you of the likely success or otherwise of an application
- Preparing decision-ready applications which can be ‘fast tracked' by DIAC
- Preparing submissions on exemptions for skill, age and English language if required.
